A journey driven by curiosity and passion

I chose the name AKAMA, inspired by the hakama in aikido, a garment that only experienced practitioners are allowed to wear. I liked this idea of discipline and knowledge, and also the connection with my own family name, Ada, which begins and ends with an A.

What has always driven me is curiosity. At a young age, the discovery of digital tools set me on an endless quest to learn, explore, and invent. I never wanted to limit myself to one style or a single way of working.

Over the past twenty years, I have directed a wide variety of films: commercials, trailers, short films, for very different worlds. That is what I love about short formats. One day I can be creating a poetic universe, the next a playful comedy, a luxury fragrance, or a dragon in a game trailer. This constant variety keeps my creativity alive.

My influences come from a lifelong hunger for images: cinema, cartoons, manga, video games. I devour these worlds the way a chef draws from a marketplace, turning them into visual ingredients for my films.

Technically, I never want to repeat the same recipe. I can combine animation, live action, 2D, 3D, or motion design. What matters is not the technique but how it serves the story.

I see myself as a chef of images. I select the right ingredients, craft a unique recipe for each project, and focus on what truly matters: the emotion that stays with you once the film is over.
